Mathias Joseph Seiler, 93, at rest June 1, 2012 at his home in Lockport. Survivors include his sister-in-law Gertrude Seiler of Lockport; nieces Gale nee Seiler York and Charleen nee Seiler Conner both of Georgia, one nephew Mark Seiler of Lockport and three great nieces, six great nephews, eight great great nieces and five great great nephews. Mr. Seiler was a farmer in Lockport until he entered the U.S. Army and served overseas in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return to the states he worked at the Kellogg factory in Lockport, and retired to his beloved farm in Lockport, where he spent many years as a gentleman farmer. A life long Cubs fan, Mr. Seiler never gave up hope he would one day see the Cubs win a pennant, and always enjoyed watching the games and reading about his favorite players. Funeral Services Friday June 8, 2012 at Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home 501 State St., Lemont at 1:00 P.M. Interment St. Alphonsus cemetery.
